Sean William McGowan Scholarship in Psychology

Description:

This scholarship was established in memory of Sean McGowan (freshman class of 2011) by his family. Sean had a special interest in the treatment of depression, attention deficit disorder, anxiety,and other psychological problems using behavior therapy rather than pharmaceutical drugs. He also had a strong interest in addictions that affect our society today. Through the creation of this scholarship, Sean is remembered for his unselfish giving to others of his time and talents.

Criteria:

1) Undergraduate student enrolled full-time in the College of Natural Sciences 2) Junior or senior majoring in Psychology 3) Maintain an overall 3.5 GPA 4) Have a concentration of study in counseling/addictions within the Psychology Department 5) Preference given to citizens or permanent residents of the United States (Scholarship(s) may be renewable if the recipient(s) continue(s) to meet all of the criteria)
