Gary E. Maciel Fellowship/Scholarship
Description:
This fellowship was established by Mrs. Robert Nissen-Haugh to honor her family's long-standing involvement in science and education and to recognize the contributions of Professor Emeritus of chemistry, Dr. Gary Maciel. Recipients demonstrate outstanding academic achievement and promise in chemical research. Jay and Susan Dunton are family members. Maxine is Dr. Maciel's widow, and Jennifer is his daughter.
Criteria:
1) U.S. citizen 2) Demonstrated outstanding academic achievement and future prospective promise in chemical research with human medical applications of special interest where possible 3) Financial need - Recipients may be [listed in priority order]: A) Chemistry department graduate student whose field of study is physical chemistry; B) graduate student whose field of study is chemistry other than physical chemistry; C) undergraduate chemistry major.
